The Caribbean Global Institute (CGI) was officially launched on 21.10.2025 in a landmark remote event that attracted significant global interest, with over 78 registrations and 45 participants joining online. The event brought together global thought leaders and regional pioneers, demonstrating the institute's commitment to forging a resilient future for the Caribbean through partnership, cutting-edge research, and strategic investment.

The event featured a compelling address by the Founder and CEO of CGI, Dr. (h.c.) Michaelene Holder-March, who articulated the institute's core purpose and strategic plan. Dr. (h.c.) The energy and intellectual firepower in the room confirmed the critical need for a platform like CGI to centralise and amplify the Caribbeans voice on the global stage. The focus on tangible outcomes in research and mentorship is precisely what the region requires.

Echoing this sentiment and issuing a clear call to action, Co-Chair Celia Davidson-Francis added, The vision is clear. It is now incumbent upon all of usacross the diaspora and within the regionto be active in our support and engagement to bring this transformative initiative to its full potential."

The discussions throughout the evening crystallised around CGIs key strategic pillars: fostering collaboration, establishing robust mentorship networks, pioneering research in areas like genetics, and driving sustainability.  A significant focus was placed on the development of business hubs and securing innovative funding models to ensure the long-term viability and impact of these initiatives.
