Nottingham, Nottinghamshire Jul 7, 2025 (Issuewire.com) - The event, which is free of charge to attend, is addressing a critical gap in opportunities for the city's talented tech professionals to connect in an open and collaborative office setting.
Built in Notts, which is hosting its inaugural weekly tech meetup at Lab82 in collaboration with the Mindora team, aims to tackle a persistent challenge facing Nottingham's technology sector: the lack of meaningful connection points for talented individuals working across the city's diverse innovation landscape.
"Without that connection and opportunity, we lose talent and prosperity from the city," said Martin Sandhu, founder of Built in Notts. "When people come together, we can create innovation and that's exactly what Nottingham needs in order to reclaim its position as a leading tech hub."
The weekly meetups represent a deliberate effort to rebuild Nottingham's tech community, creating regular touchpoints where founders, developers, designers, and other professionals can share ideas, collaborate on projects, and strengthen the local innovation ecosystem.
The kick-off event will feature the team from Mindora, who will share their work tackling what they describe as the "$8.8 trillion productivity problem". Attendees will explore how Nottingham can lead the way in rethinking workplace performance while helping to shape the future direction of Built in Notts events.
Future sessions will include hackathons, technical workshops, and open co-working opportunities, with programming driven by community input and needs.
"We're starting with coffee, conversation, and community," Martin noted. "Our goal is to create a space where Nottingham's tech talent can thrive locally rather than feeling compelled to seek opportunities elsewhere."
The initiative comes at a crucial time for Nottingham's technology sector, as cities across the UK compete to retain and attract skilled professionals in an increasingly competitive market.
